FURTHER INFORMATION
To start at Level 2 you should have at least 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D/E) or above, including English and maths. In addition to the specified entry requirements, you may be required to undergo an assessment of your English skills to ensure you are at a sufficient level for your chosen course. Start on Level 1 Hair & Beauty, if you do not have the above grades.
Upon completion of this Level 2 course you can progress to either a Level 3 barbering apprenticeship or the full-time hairdressing course. Alternatively, you can move on to other specialist Level 2 and 3 qualifications, such as make-up artistry, theatrical make-up, or part-time courses in hair extensions or African Caribbean hair.
As you are required to have a salon placement running alongside your course, employers will often employ you on successful completion of your qualification.

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.

Set Up Your Account
You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.
Apply
Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.
Application Review Meeting
Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.
What next?
Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
