COURSE OVERVIEW
Our popular modern salon provides an ideal environment to gain the skills, confidence and knowledge you need for a career in hairdressing. This exciting course has been adapted to ensure that you get all of the practical training and learning that employers tell us they need in the industry.

FURTHER INFORMATION
To start at Level 2 you should have at least 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D/E) or above, including English and maths. In addition to the specified entry requirements, you may be required to undergo an assessment of your English skills to ensure you are at a sufficient level for your chosen course. Start on Level 1 Hair & Beauty, if you do not have the above grades.
Upon completion of this Level 2 course you can progress to either a Level 3 barbering apprenticeship or the full-time hairdressing course. Alternatively, you can move on to other specialist Level 2 and 3 qualifications, such as make-up artistry, theatrical make-up, or part-time courses in hair extensions or African Caribbean hair.
As you are required to have a salon placement running alongside your course, employers will often employ you on successful completion of your qualification.

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
