COURSE OVERVIEW
T Level Technical Qualification in Media, Broadcast and Production; Creative Media Technician specialism.
This two-year, Level 3 T Level study programme will combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315 hours of industry placement with an employer. The work placement ensures students have real experience of the workplace. This T Level programme has been developed in collaboration with employers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work with the knowledge and experience needed to progress to highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.
Course Programme Structure
Core component: – This covers the underpinning knowledge, concepts and skills that support threshold competence in the media industry including: – The creative economy, The individual in the creative industries, Cultural context and vocabulary, Audience, Legislation/Regulation, Professionalism and ethics, Equality, diversity and inclusion, Research skills, Project methodology and administration, Continued professional development.
Core examination
Occupational Specialism component – Creative Media Technician: – Planning, Preparing, Sourcing and Generating media assets
FURTHER INFORMATION
The course is aimed at 16 – 18 year olds who are interested in a career in Creative Media – TV and Broadcast.
You will need 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or higher, including English and Mathematics. You will also need to be successful at interview and create a substantial portfolio (summer task) showcasing your commitment to the course.
After completing the course, students may progress into further training, employment or Higher Education
Assessment is via coursework assignments, exams and Industry Placement
