COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the ideal first step towards finding your way into teaching. Our supportive, classroom-based, delivery is aimed at those who have little or no experience in the teaching or training sector. You’ll gain valuable insight into the teaching roles and responsibilities in education and training, alongside ways to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment. Looking at the different types and methods of assessment used in the sector, you’ll focus on;
- Lesson planning
- Inclusive learning
- Valuing diversity
- Planning assessment
- Giving constructive feedback.
Under the guidance of an experienced teacher, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your role as a new teacher or trainer, evaluate relationships in the industry, meet and build a network with other new teachers and practise your skills with your group.
This course runs on a Tuesday evening from 17:30 to 20:30 at Broadwatwer campus

This course is suitable for you if:
- You are currently teaching and training (even if you have just begun teaching and training).
- You are not currently in a teaching or training role.
- You are currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching
Level 2 English is required and you will be expected to attend an on-line or in-person interview.
Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, individuals will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue various roles in the education sector. These may include teaching positions in further education colleges, training roles within organisations, or the provision of private tuition.
You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, a micro teach and academic coursework. Your tutor will provide feedback and give the opportunity to resubmit assignments if additional work is required.

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.
Application Review Meeting
Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
