COURSE OVERVIEW

The core element of a T Level in Digital Support and Services will develop your knowledge in a range of topics such as:

  • Programming
  • Coding
  • How digital technologies impact business and market environment
  • Ethical and moral implications of digital technology
  • Using data in software design
  • Using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
  • Digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
  • Legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies
  • Privacy and confidentiality of personal data
  • Technical, physical and human aspects of internet security
  • Planning digital projects
  • Testing software, hardware and data
  • Digital tools for project management and collaboration
You will also learn about topics specific to digital support services, including:
  • Roles within the digital support services sector
  • Communication in digital support services
  • Fault analysis and problem resolution
In addition to the core content, you will have the opportunity to choose one of the following specialisms:
  • Digital infrastructure
  • Network cabling
  • Digital support
  • Cyber security

It’;s a cutting-edge subject, so you’;ll also learn about the potential security risks organisations face and how to analyse problems and identify solutions through computer programs.

You’;ll then choose a specialism designed to support your interests, so you can get deeper into your chosen subject and build up the skills you need for your future job.

Then you’;ll be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement of around 45 days.

This gives you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study, such as an IT company or department, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.

You will need 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including English Language and Mathematics. You will also need to be successful at interview.

HOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORKS

Step 1

Set Up Your Account

You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.

Step 2

Apply

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.

Step 3

Application Review Meeting

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 4

Accept Your Place

Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Step 5

What next?

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
